š During the teenage stage the connectivity between the area of the brain responsible for decision making and the area responsible for emotional processing decreases!!
š¹ As Iām sure you have already noticed, this results in less behavioral control, increased risk taking and more sensitive to fear.
ā In real life this could mean that what was once no hassle to now feels scary.
āwhat was once easy to do is now stressful.
āwhat once made sense is now confusing.
ā the world can feel like ātoo muchā for dogs at this stage
ā their inner world is intense, even crazy
Itās so easy to feel frustrated and sometimes this causes us to act scary or unpredictably as now the inside and the outside are both unpredictable it can be difficult for our dogs to adjust.
Please slow things down, we need to make some changes. Station our walks, donāt push too hard with too many triggers and help them through this period being the calm your dog needs right now!
